South Carolina won at No. 16 Florida 38-19, ending an eight-game SEC losing streak that dated to September 2025. It is the Gamecocks' first win in Gainesville since 2014.
LaNorris Sellers accounted for five touchdowns. He went 23 of 35 for 279 yards with touchdown passes to Nyck Harbor, Mazeo Bennett Jr., Donovan Murph and Lex Cyrus, and ran one in from a yard out. Harbor led Carolina with 83 receiving yards on four catches.
Carolina led 17-10 at a halftime stretched by a 45-minute lightning delay. Florida opened the third quarter with Patrick Durkin's 48-yard field goal to get within 17-13. Carolina answered with Sellers' 26-yard touchdown pass to Murph, then a 10-play drive that ended with Sellers' 1-yard plunge after replay ruled his 3-yard run down at the 1.
Cyrus caught a 21-yard touchdown with 8:07 left to make it 38-13. Florida's Jadan Baugh scored from 2 yards with 1:01 left, and the two-point pass failed.
Carolina's defense forced three turnovers, and the offense committed none. The Gamecocks converted 10 of 16 third downs and held the ball for 30:37.
Starting cornerback Judge Collier left in the first half with an apparent concussion, per the AP, and did not return.
Up next: an open date, then No. 15 Tennessee at Williams-Brice Stadium on Oct. 24.

Shane Beamer, South Carolina
“When we’re clicking and playing our standard of football, we’re gonna be hard to beat.”
“I get it. We’ve held second-half leads in a lot of games here recently. We’ve got to play a whole lot better in the second half than we have in previous SEC games.”
Reporter summaries from the room (not direct quotes):
On the extended halftime
There is a surge coming from Florida. And we own it, we haven’t played great in the third quarter. We have the opportunity to put that stuff to bed immediately.

On the lightning delay
Kids had their helmets on, listening to music, ready to go out the tunnel and they didn't even know when the delay was going to end.

Been a hard six weeks, mentally and physically. Got to get some guys back this week (Collier left and didn't return). Lot to build, didn't expect to be 3-3 but they are, got to go get better.

Jon Sumrall, Florida
“I'm frustrated with every part of what we did today,”
Vicari Swain intercepted Aaron Philo with 3:29 left in the first half and returned it 18 yards to the Florida 26. Sellers hit Bennett for a touchdown five plays later.
Justin Okoronkwo intercepted Tramell Jones Jr. at the Carolina 39 with 6:49 left. A Carolina unsportsmanlike-conduct penalty after the play moved the ball back to the 24.
Dylan Stewart, back from a one-game suspension, forced two fumbles. His first-quarter sack knocked the ball from Philo, but Florida recovered. Early in the fourth, with Carolina up 31-13, he forced Philo to fumble at the Carolina 15 and Shawn Murphy recovered at the 13. Replay confirmed the fumble.
Sacks: Stewart, Caleb Herring and Troy Pikes, one each. Peyton Williams led the team with seven tackles.
Florida
Myles Graham had eight tackles and two sacks. Aaron Chiles had a team-high nine tackles.

South Carolina 17, Florida 10 at the half
Florida scored first. Aaron Philo hit Bailey Stockton for a 59-yard touchdown with 11:25 left in the first quarter. Malik Orsan missed a 47-yard field goal later in the quarter.
LaNorris Sellers answered on third-and-10, dropping a throw on a corner route to Nyck Harbor with a defender on him for a 15-yard touchdown. Orsan's extra point made it 7-7 with 12 seconds left in the first.
Florida went back up 10-7 on Patrick Durkin's 21-yard field goal with 8:50 left in the second quarter. Orsan tied it from 37 yards on the next drive.
Vicari Swain then intercepted Philo and returned it 18 yards to the Florida 26. Five plays later, Sellers hit Mazeo Bennett Jr. on a slant for a 12-yard touchdown, and Carolina led 17-10 with 1:47 left in the half.
Florida moved into field goal range in the final seconds. South Carolina called timeout before the kick, and Durkin's try as time expired was no good.

Early in the first quarter, Jordan Kaye reported that Sellers and Bennett had a brief exchange on the sideline after a drive. In the second quarter, the two connected for the go-ahead touchdown.

What the tape says
Start on schedule. The Swamp punishes three-and-outs.
Sellers as a runner in the red zone. Don't get cute.
Force Philo off schedule. He's a timing thrower, not a creator.
Win the fourth quarter.
History
Jon Sumrall's first Florida season after the Napier era. Aaron Philo won the job in August.
The Swamp remains a different Saturday even when Florida is rebuilding.
Beamer's road SEC record is the subtext — leaving The Swamp with the first SEC win of the season would be a steal.
